Nice price for this flashlight

Been looking for a deal on this flashlight. Even though the buyer feedback is good, anyone have any experience with them?

R4 or R5?

Title says R5. Description says R4?

SKU says R5 so I would assume that's the "most" correct but who knows.

I can't decide on this or a CR123 light. A CR123 light with rechargeable lithiums seems better because NiMH sucks when they get cold. I believe they make rechargeable lithium AA's but they seem harder to come by.

Great flashlight at a very good price. I bought myself one for Christmas for $60 - and am tempted to buy more for other stuff. 180 lumens is really bright shining directly at someone, especially if it's already dark. LED is great too. The battery time lasts very long.

If you like MAG Lights - this flashlight will blow you away. I don't think I'm ever going back.

Word of warning - these are made in China and there is nothing but rubbish for customer support. I bought a Fenix, it crapped the bed 45 days later. Amazon couldn't do anything about it, and I tried getting support from Fenix. I would have to pay to MAIL IT TO CHINA, have them test it to verify it was actually faultily manufactured (something tells me I would lose on that end) and then get it back months later. No thank you. Not buying a Fenix ever again. *not trying to TC here, just giving a warning on my personal experience*

True True. Other brands too. I think that they do it to taunt us. Have you found what Chinese brand(s) is reliable?

The new eneloop nimh work very well under cold conditions (even the old ones do) I've never had an issue, so far (minnesota winter)

great now you are starting to make me regret the damn flashlight that was on ebay for $44 a few months back! sucks even more because the farking batteries are cr123 its not like they sell that shit at the 99 cent store!!!

update i bought the pd30 for the same price but it has 257 lumens which will blind the shit out something

I actually had a smooth amazon warranty exchange. Had a little e05 that went bad after about 6 months. Registered my warranty through the fenix site then contacted amazon. Once they received it they sent me a new one in a few days. Not sure I would want to go through a warraty exchange with any other seller though.

I have another Fenix that is great. Might as well try this one on the cheap. Thanks.

You've got it backwards. Lithium does not work well in cold weather. One of the reason construction crews have been slow to move their tools over to lithium platforms.
