Not necessarily. They're awesome if you like a certain type of coffee but either cant find it in the plastic k-cup or they're too expensive. You grind your own beans and fill this up.

The kcups don't taste nearly as good as fresh ground coffee. But if you're strapped for time or have guests over, the prefilled cups are perfect.

I use my ekobrew all the time now unless I get pretty lazy and want a cup of coffee right now.

If you don't feel like pouring grounds into the ekobrew, then the kcups are the way to go. I love them because there are so many flavors and strengths. But if I run out, I use my own coffee I have on hand (Folgers, etc.) and put that in the ekobrew and it tastes great. I have never ground my own coffee. It's personal preference.

Thanks, but what I was referring to is the "My K cup" (the one made by Keurig) refillable item that is just like the ekobrew. Ot the k cups in general.

Anybody else find that coffee doesn't dispense properly with these? Suggestions?

about how long does one of these refillable cups last?

I got mine this week. I like it, works nice. I couldn' t imagine paying the 20 dollars or whatever they want for the my k cup thing. There isn't much to these things.

What do you mean that it doesn't dispense properly?

It works much, much better if you use finely ground coffee. I have used bigger grounds and my coffee is weak. So use finely ground, tastes much better.

Do not fill it up to the very top. It will not work as well and it may overflow. I have never had any problems with mine overflowing, but I never fill it all the way to the top either.

I know!! I had that one and there were 3 parts that you had to take apart, then clean and then i had to take a piece out of my keurig just to fit it in there! Stupidest invention. The ekobrew is WAY better and I'm so glad someone suggested it to me.

Fairly new product (I think).... if someone's has gone out already, I'd be worried. I would think it would last for a long time. The ONLY thing that I would think might go bad after awhile would be the silicone seal... but still, like anything, if you take care of something, you can make it last for as long as you want.

Believe me, that one is terrible. I'm sure it does the job, but it is 3 separate pieces that you have to take apart and clean. Then you have to take a part out of the Keurig to make that one fit inside it because it's big and bulky. Yes, that may sound lazy, to clean 3 pieces, but the Ekobrew is 1 piece and it works just like the kcups, place it in, close the lid and you're done.
