Man, my hubby got me one of these for Christmas and they are really great! At the time Target had them mis-marked and he paid $29.99 for a Sonos 5! He went to the customer service counter because it was an obvious mistake but they were busy and told him it was on the receipt and scanned it showing the $29.99 price, they were really rude to him so he was like fine if you wanna charge me $30 for a $400 item I'll take itWink

hmm this is a good deal - the free bridge is off and on from both target and sonos.com. the extra 10% is what makes it good. i'm in need of a connect, bridge, and a play:5, may get the last two from target; it's really too bad they don't carry the connect.

will see if sonos.com will match this (probably not, but worth a shot; their CSRs are pretty nice), i'd just get the lot from them. would be great if BB would PM target.com...

this isnt a deal.. if you add tax and the fact you are buying at 10% off MSRP

on ebay you can buy this at 10% off MSRP with NO TAX

as for the bridge, its totally useless for most people. it is the ZP-90 or the ZP-120 (now known as connect 90 or 120) player that is golden if you have an audio system and if you have a switch near the audio system you wont need the bridge.

I love sonos ZP-90 and the ZP-120 together with the Ipad/iphone app, by the way.. its the most awesome thing invented since sliced bread.
don't you use the bridge to hard-connect to the router so that the entire system (app to speaker) is wirelessly connected? or are you saying the connect 90/120 does the same thing? i also don't have an audio system.

You have it right, that is exactly what it is for. I'd say its pretty damn useful and this is a great deal. I move my Play 5 around upstairs and outside and the Bridge is what makes that wireless connection. I just bought the Play5 and bridge from Amazon during the 40$ GC deal and this deal is better.

Looks like Sonos/Target is making an active push to get these into homes. If you know about it and think you might enjoy it, I'll say you probably will. Ease of use and versatility is amazing.

you need a bridge if you only use wireless in your house and where your router is you have no need for a speaker (like, in a closet).

Parafly is right. Needing a bridge is not dependent on the number of players you have, but on the location of your router. If your router is in a place you will never put a player, you need a bridge. Or a long-a$$ Ethernet cable, but that sure beats the point of wireless, doesn't it? And a free bridge is, well, free...

The items in your cart do not yet meet the minimum requirements for the promotion you entered.

Anyone able to get this to work?

QUESTION: I just bought one of the PLAY5 at a local auction for $100 factory sealed. I have a Cisco router that is pretty slammin in my den (can get signal in my garage from across the house no problem) I am not going to put this speaker in my Den, do I need the bridge or did my awesome deal just get more expensive?

Just wanted to add, I know nothing about this system at all. Haven't even opened the box yet. Just knew that it costs $400 reg so I figured I would snatch it up for $100. Admit, clueless about this.

Yes, a bridge is required no matter where the system is. The bridge needs to be hard wired to the router, and then the Sonos components (such as your play 5) will connect to the bridge.
