Private Party Auto Loans?

Looking at buying a used car and the last thing i wanna do is go through a stealership. After doing some research i had no idea that ppal are kinda fading away. I did go through capital one about 5 years ago to buy a used car from a private seller and had a great experience. Was about to apply again till i noticed they dont do that anymore. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where the best place would be for this type of loan with a good rate? I tried my bank and they to dont offer it.

Unless you are buying a car older then 5 years old, at least around here, it is better to get a new car if you are planning on financing it. Most 0-5 year old used cars in this area are not more then 5-20% less then a new car. And they mostly have really high mileage.

You are at the BEST time of year to get a new car - late January. Worst month for dealerships AND at the end of the month. Why not get a car that no one has farted in yet?

All the new cars i like i cant afford so that's kinda out of the question. Also id rather someone else take the the initial hit on a new car then me. Im looking at cars i wish i could own new but can now afford used (thats just me).
