TCL/Westinghouse or LG/Samsumg

In terms of customer service, you're probably going to have the same success rate with all of the companies. Both LG and Samsung have horrible customer service records for consumer electronics (honey badger don't give a sh*t). I've had a Samsung 32" for about 6 years and am fairly happy with it.

In terms of reliability I'd stick with the name brand products. Not that LG / Lucky Goldstar is a marquee brand at this point, but they are getting better.

Someone told me when talking about tools that "quality remains when price is forgotten" - this could hold true here as well I guess. YMMV.

In this case go with name brand as a TV is not cheap ($200 for decent size TV) and a "semi" - long term investment.

I would recommend you go with Samsung before considering a LG, I would not recommend the other two unless you feel lucky.

"You get what you paid for" this statement holds true in this case. Name brand product have better components and quality.

Also consider for lesser name brand TV's their product quality is not "consistent", as mentioned this comes down to luck: if it works GREAT! however most often than not they will fail on you. Name brand TV's on the other hand have a higher product quality "consistency"

I regularly visit my local electronic retail store and even worked for one in the past. I have notice that in the TV dept that lesser name brand TV go "bad" more often than the more name brand TV's this is one of the reason one of the reason why I would not recommend a SHARP TV. The bottom line is that both name brand and lesser brand do not have perfect assembly line, however you are less likely to get issues with a name brand TV than a no name brand one.

There are lots of things to consider when buying a TV, lots of the thing being negligible, yet important beside the price point.

Example: Picture quality, from side to side comparison you will notice a difference however takes this into consideration once you get the TV home you will not notice the difference. (lack of comparison)
