SPRINT Changing T&C again (Feb 2012) - Get out of Contract ETF free

I personally filed a complaint with the FCC and BBB to get this case resolved. In the meantime, I also emailed dan@sprint.com and received an e-mail from an account services rep. After 3 emails she was able to credit my account. In the emails from her I was able to see all the account notes and this particular one below disturbed me.

Reason for referral: Customer is disputing ETF charges on the account.

Customer was promised waiver of ETF by Account Services in January due to

changes in discount policy. Customer ported the number to AT&T and came

back again to get discount on new handsets and kept the same numbers.

Account Services denied waiver of ETF stating changes in discount policy

was not the reason for cancellation since customer came back and accepted

the same discount.



In addition, customer received discount on new handsets with same phone

numbers that he cancelled. Customer is trying to contact us multiple

times and also chatting with multiple specialist and simultaneously

calling Sprint specialists as well. He is trying to get the credit by

playing smart and now threatening to contact Executive Services.

I am in the same situation as you. I am trying to get sprint to give me a credit for the ETF. I talked to 3 different reps and the last one i talked to said that the prior rep has submitted a request for me and i should know if it has been accepted or declined within 3-5 business days. would emailing dan@sprint.com give quicker results?

One of the account services reps sent a request too as well but I never heard anything back from that. Filing a complaint with the BBB and FCC as well as email dan@sprint.com is the best route.

I'm in a similar situation as you.

Just Spoken to a Sprint account supervisor. They reported of no notation about anything about waiving my ETF. This is even after I told them about my Chat transcript last month stating what I will not Be charged an ETF. They simply said its a valid charge. Any suggestion about What I should do?

This is what I e-mailed and after this e-mail I received a response that it would be waived.

"Hello,

Sorry that this situation has caused an inconvenience for both me and Sprint. We
cancelled our Sprint lines because of the increasing rates.
We got new phones with AT&T at a discount as well, but we realized that Sprint
does meet our needs. Thus we switched back to Sprint accepting the new terms and
the discount policy changes. On our old contract we did not accept these
changes. We cancelled, and thus we were promised no ETF fees. We then came back
to Sprint accepting the new terms. Email is the best way to contact me and I'm
sorry I can't speak on the phone."

Same here. Sprint keeps saying they will put in the credit for the ETF charges. And when I called last they said too bad they are not crediting my account. I called again and they said they would put the credit in again but I still have not. received any credits. Who can I file a complaint with. Its in my notes there would not be a ETF charge but they continue to deny me any credits.

This has been hell for me. I don't know how many calls I've made to them. They all say yes my account is noted about the fees being waived. I keep getting 3-5, 10 or 60 days then I'll get a credit. BBB is next. What a pos company. I've been with sprint for almost 10 years. My bill seems to go up about every 6 months. Then the data is almost unusable. Now for the last 3 weeks nothing but dropped calls. I will happily pay double with verizon. Mark my words they will sell out to another buyer.

did you email dan@sprint.com and how long did it take for sprint to reply to your email?

Yeah. I sent the e-mail to them. I got it resolved the next day.

i sent the email yesterday so hopefully i get a quick response like you did.
