IMO, this is the BEST deal for 7.62x39 on the market. Yes, you can probably get Wolf/Ulyanovsk/Yugo/KSAP for slightly cheaper, but Golden Tiger is of much higher quality. It is by far the best surplus 7.62x39 ammo I have had the pleasure of shooting. I don't pay tax and the shipping is reasonable, making it a great deal.

SG Ammo sells out of the Golden Tiger fast, just a forewarning. Once they sell out, this ammo is extremely difficult to get elsewhere, let alone for a similar price. They only recently re-stocked (by recently I mean a few hours ago, I set myself up for notifications). Been months since they had any in stock, I bought all I could last time.

Ever since I started shooting Golden Tiger, this is literally the only 7.62x39 I put through my rifles.

EDIT: When I posted this they had about 200 stock...49 now...will sell out fast
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Use both the site in the above post and this one to compare the 'shipped to your door' price.

Thanks, in for a case. I've only fired Wolf out of my Saiga and it's obviously quite dirty. Not that it really matters in a Russian gun, but hopefully this stuff is a bit cleaner and more accurate.

Will also be good to switch from JHP to FMJ I'm sure. I never really understood the point of JHP 7.63x39 since you lose AP and a bad guy without armor will be sufficiently unhappy with the disruption of a jacketed round in this caliber.

Edit: I guess it's good if you don't want it going through walls quite as easily.

Nice man, I'm in the process of converting a Saiga 7.62x39 to an ak47

As for the JHP vs FMJ, with 7.62x39 over penetration is gonna be an issue regardless

Even when shooting JHP, walls are gonna be a problem

so I say screw it, just use FMJ (not that I'm saying JHP is inferior, still great for protection and good in its own ways. just saying this golden tiger is a great value and comes in FMJ)

I agree with the OP, Golden Tiger is far more accurate and less dirty than Wolf. The only other brand I prefer over Golden Tiger is Silver Bear.

The original poster did mention this is FMJ "BT" and that is very important as far as accuracy goes. It's basically an improvement over the M67 Mil-Spec. ammo we normally see as well as most commercial combloc ammo. Keep in mind also Wolf doesn't make ammo. They are simply an importer that contracts with Russian manufacturers to make ammo. Golden Tiger is made in the Vympel factory and sold by them and Wolf has a bunch of different factories it may be coming from. http://www.ar15.com/content/page.html?id=268
