Ordered a new battery on ebay for $42 shipped. 7800 maH, 58Wh. Twice the capacity of the original Samsung battery. Seemed like a great price. Popped it in today, fit perfect. Just a bit taller than the OEM battery which is flush with the bottom of the laptop, but it really isn't noticeable. For $42, it seems like a great deal. Popped it in today and can't tell for sure, but seems that the life definitely is a lot longer than the OEM battery -- hoping for about 6 hours with wi-fi enabled doing normal web

Now if we could only resolve the wifi issue on this computer

bluedevils, how's that 7800 mah battery working out for you?

Is the increase in battery life over the stock substantial?

This replacement battery definitely has substantially longer life than the original battery - somewhere around 50% longer, maybe more. I haven't done any scientific tests, but it seems like 5-6 hours is feasible with the replacement battery depending on usage and settings. I had a hard time getting more than 3 hours on the original.

I'm happy with the purchase, although I had a couple situations recently in which my laptop shut off unexpectedly. Couldn't figure out why, thought maybe I pressed the power button to wake it up but it was already awake and so that I accidentally powered it off. Finally realized the replacement battery had slipped out slightly, and since the laptop wasn't plugged in, it shut off. I re-inserted the battery trying to make sure it was in there perfectly, and haven't had any problems in a couple weeks.

after long delay bought this battery, from the seller on ebay that claimed to be based in USA. Well its really given my notebook a new life, or shall i say longer life
with this battery it is actually usable as a portable devise, that and the fact that i sent in in before the battery expired complaining about the wifi for the 3rd time, while they refused to replace the whole unit they must have done something because the wifi finally worked on this unit.

i also had issues with the loose plug for the ac adapter into the computer but both the ac adapter and the input have been replaced.
now out of warranty, but considering i travel lots 200k miles a year, this has held up so far in the last 6months since i got the new battery.

Has anyone had problems with skype and the internal mic picking up the fan noise? I have tried to adjust the settings but nothing seemed to work. Any thoughts would be great, thanks for your time!

Is it worth fixing?
Anyone else have this issue?

not sure what message HD unstable means.

I use my 300 daily. At least once a day, I get a bios HD error message (HD not found) upon bootup. I've gotten this message straight out of the box. I've tried multiple know good HDD and always get the same error. I attribute this to just bad firmware, but I could be wrong.

For me, one to three power cycles fixes this.

Does anyone know if this laptop is compatible with Intel Centrino Ultimate N6300 wifi adapter?

Does anyone have problems detecting the hard drive after installing/replacing a SSD? I replaced it with Intel 530 480GB and used Acronis true image 2014 to clone the original harddrive into the SSD. The laptop detects the SSD when I inserted it the first time; however, after cloning the laptop simply stopped detecting my new cloned SSD. I have to switch back to the old 320GB hard drive for the time being. If anyone has similar problems before and know the solution, please share it with me! I greatly appreciate any help on it issue.

If the card is a two antenna specific version then yes. If you have the three antenna version then probably yes, but with degraded or sub optimal performance.

You'd be better off with a two antenna card, because that's what the NP300 has. I've updated to the Bigfoot Networks Killer N-1202 card and it works great, especially on the 5ghz band.

Are you not seeing it on post in BIOS? Or getting the common HD not found error? The HD not found error can be fixed by updating to the latest bios firmware Samsung has posted. It fixed my issue when I swapped out to SSD.
