Costco - Norelco Rebate Rejection Issue for Sensotouch 3D 1255x

For those of you who purchased who purchased a Norelco Sensotouch 3D, either online or in-store, I would like to share my rebate issue with you and would like to know if anyone has experienced the same.

During the months of November and December, Costco advertised the Norelco 1255x discounted with an instant rebate along with a mail-in rebate. I purchased my Norelco 1255x on 11/12/11 and on 01/11/12 my rebate was rejected, per the rebate update status webpage (http://pnregistration.harte-hanks...tatus.aspx). The reason my rebate was rejected is because I already received an instant rebate at the time of purchase and the MIR was not good with any other offer. This information was confirmed by the Philips customer service rep.

After several days of communication and some hassle with the store front manager at the place of purchase, I was informed that there was an issue with the 3rd party processing company and the distributor, if I remember correctly. Furthermore, the involving parties are aware of the problem and should be taking care of the situation. According to the Costo store front manager, those who have purchased the item and had their rebates rejected will be contacted (not by Costco, but probably by Philips or rebate processing company) regarding the situation and will still receive their rebates.

I took this call while I was on the road, therefore, the information above is not as exact as I would like it to be, but it is along the lines of what I was told. I was also given dates of the process of being contacted and when the checks were to be sent out, but I do not recall the exact date since I was not able to write it down. However, it is supposed to be soon. I did request for documentation in regard to this matter and I will post it up if I do receive anything.

As of now, I have not received any calls from Philips nor have I received the rebate. I hope this information will give light to anyone who may have a rejection for their MIR. If you have had your rebate rejected, I do advise you to contact Costco on this matter and please feel free to comment on your experience or any information you may or may have received.

UPDATE: Yesterday, I called the Costco regional office for Los Angeles regarding the situation. I was given similar information regarding the rebate. In addition, the person I spoke with said he would make some calls to make sure I was contacted by whomever is taking care of the issue (either Philips or 3rd party processing company).

Today, I received a call from Harte Hanks, who is the 3rd party rebate processing company. I was informed that they were instructed to accept the Costco rebate forms. However, there was a mix up in rebate form numbers. Therefore, Costco rebates were rejected. Furthermore, my rebate is scheduled to be reprocessed on January 31st and I should be receiving it around the week of Feb 6.

If you or anyone your know had their Costco rebate rejected, please inform them regarding this information and contact your Costco Regional Office (call local store and ask for regional ofice number), since they can better handle this situation. If the purchase was made online, call the customer service number available on the Costo.com website.

UPDATE: Today, I checked the rebate update status webpage (http://pnregistration.harte-hanks...status.aspx). As of 02/01/12, my rebate has been reprocessed. I should be receiving the rebate soon.

Actually, Harte-Hanks is taking the blame on this one, maybe some blame on Costco as well. I'm not exactly sure who is completely at fault, Philips authorized Harte-Hanks to process the Costo rebates. However, the rebate form numbers on Harte-Hanks's computers did not match the Costo form numbers. In any case, I'm just glad my rebate has been processed.

Gee wheez! It's Philips rebate. The slimy scumbag Philips is to blame!

If you purchased from a local Costco store, I would recommend contacting your regional Costco office as your first step. If you purchased from Costco.com, contact the Costco.com customer service number.

I do believe Costco should take the steps to have the rebate folks contact you, but you can bypass Costco and contact Patty directly.

harte-hanks is a staffing agency, so they are not the actual rebate processor company. they hire people for places like the FedEx call centers in the US. there is such a call center in the metric austin area. then after about 6 months the employees, if in good standing, usually get transferred over to the actual company they are working for.

I think they are a fairly large company. Staffing agency might just be one of their services. I'm pretty certain they are in charge of dealing with the rebates, whether or not they process it. But hey, I could be wrong too.
