You may want to ask the manager to do rain check for you. My store didn't have any, but the manager did a couple rain checks for 10 TM IS 1 user and 5 TM IS 3 user for me.
All I did was to give the manager the SKUs and tell him how many I wanted.
The purchase is eligible for both rebate and rewards, and they will call me when the software are available for pick up (though I don't really care whether or not I actually get the software).---> not working at San Leandro, CA I don't see how a manager can sell something that is oos. 25% rewards is done by rewards center not the local manager.

"FYI for those planning on doing a return /re-purchase with the 25% off don't forget that the rebates on some of the FAR items expire today so you will have to complete your return / re-purchase transaction today.

An issue I have encountered in the past doing a return /re-purchase on a rebate items is that if you purchased the maximum allowed for a particular rebate offer and you have already submitted the easy rebate(s) from those purchase(s) you will not be able to submit additional easy rebates online on those offer(s) for your re-purchases if the prior rebate submission(s) have already entered the "validation complete" stage. This is true even after you get the rebate void cancellation email confirming your prior return(s). However, you can still smail mail them in and get your rebates. This may already be an issue for those that got the FAR items first week of this month as they should be in the "validation complete" stage is you purchased those items prior to 1/6.

Another issue is that some Staples [staples.com] store managers will only allow software returns within the first 14 days of purchase because that is what the return policy on the back of the in-store receipt seems to imply depending on how you interpret it. However, the official Staples return policy online has always stated unopened software can be returned any time. I have had some stores that will not budge on this even after pointing out the official policy so if you planning to do a return / re-purchase and you purchased more than 14 days ago be sure to leave yourself enough time to go to another store as you will not be able to call corporate today and some of the rebate will be expired on Monday. While corporate will certainly make the store do the return/ re-purchase next week they will not help or care about the rebates."
