Anyone know any websites/programs that will stream chinese (mandarin) tv shows? However, they must not include any spyware/malware/pop up ads. Basically anything malicious that will affect my pc. Thanks

Anyone looking for any movies/shows in Chinese, look up PPS. It has TONS of shows, movies, news, almost anything from China and Taiwan. I made a dedicated PPS machine for my mom, and she hasn't left her room in over a year...lol.

Seriously though, PPS is great because it has all these Chinese shows, as well as Korean dramas with Chinese subs, American movies in Chinese subs, etc....and its free.

As far as the legality of it...come on...its made in China.

Its a pretty straight forward install, but it does pop out a bunch of useless adverts from time to time. Some AV's might tag it as malicious, but it's not really. Just annoying popups. Personally, I can't stand these Chinese adware things which is why I put together a cheapy computer just to run this for my mom.

oh wow. so expensive. quality must b good since it uses HDMI connection. but too bad my parents still using those tube projection tvs with the red, white, yellow cables. and my internet is only 3.0Mbps DL so no go

FYI. They are different models. The one cost $169 is M120 and the one cost $229 is M121. M-121 equipped with both HDMI & AV video out, with SD slot and USB port. since you know the info, i am assuming u are literate in chinese. does it say that the older version model M-120 got discontinued? can't seem to find that on their site anymore and the company seems unreliable if they just kill one of their project in just 3-4 months. who knows what support they will have in the future

Last I heard, BETV removed all those TVB channels from their software program. However if you bought the TVPad, TVB was still there. I think the same goes for ATV, but nobody watches that channel. The appeal of BETV was that nobody else had HK/Cantonese stuff. Yeah there is PPTV, PPS, CBox, and others, but those are mostly Mainland China/Mandarin. Anyway, people found out that BETV is based on Sopcast. So some of those HK channels that used to be on BETV are available on Sopcast. As mentioned, a big problem is the time difference if you want to watch HK primetime dramas.

Is this device legal? If not, won't content disappear if the company is shut down?
