Recommended Online Bank
Hello,
I'm looking to open a bank account.
I currently have a regular checking account and a savings/checking account at a credit union, however, both of them have a $15 fee for incoming international wire and both charge me if I don't use the debit card every month.
What I want is a bank that has no incoming wire transfer, so I assume it's probably going to be an online bank.
Other features I would like is easy to transfer money in the US and nice website for online access. Having available checks is also a plus, since I have to pay some bills by check, however I may keep one of my regular bank or credit union accounts.
I don't care much about ATM. Haven't used one in the last three years.
I never had a withdraw fee, so I don't care much about it.
I was thinking about ING Direct, since they seem to be what I need and they also give some interest. However, with the Capital ONE deal, I'm not sure if it would be a wise decision.
Doing research I've found Schwab Bank and Ally as good candidates. Ally seems to check for good credit, so it probably won't work. Schwab doesn't show many details about their accounts and fees.
I should mention that I have no credit history. Even my secure credit card was refused. This is like a loop. You need to use credit cards to get credit history, but if you don't have credit history, they don't give you credit cards.
Any familiar with those or other online bank?
Thanks for your recommendations.
