The program that use to have the specific HP02 restriction, MaxPerks, no long has that restriction.

As to the difference between INK CARTRIDGES and INK TANKS, cartridges have printheads while tanks do not but I am unsure which, if any, of the programs are making such a distinction.

MaxPerks In-Store Ink and Toner Recycling Program

Effective 4/1/12, as a member of MaxPerks Rewards, simply bring in any visibly undamaged, originally manufactured, ink/toner cartridges to an OfficeMax retail store location and earn a $2 reward per qualified cartridge, with a maximum reward of $20 per calendar month per member (or 10 cartridges per calendar month per member.) Remanufactured ink/toner cartridges are not eligible for rewards under the recycling program.

The Office Depot Worklife Rewards Ink/Toner Recycling Program totally sucks. I wish I had realized this before dropping off my cartridges.

I thought that I brought cartridges (up to 10 a month) to the store to recycle and that I would receive a certificate at the end of the quarter for $2 for each cartridge, as long as the amount was $10 or greater. This is how Staples does it.

From what I can gather based on their website is that I bring the cartridges into recycle. Then I spend money on qualifying purchases and they will send me a credit certificate up to what I spent in the same period.

If I spend $20 and recycle 10 cartridges, they will send me a certificate for $20. Then I will need to purchase another $20 of items to use the certificate. I will get $40 worth of items for $20 and 10 recycled cartridges. When I wanted $20 worth of items for $0.

SUCKS!! Please let me know if I am misunderstanding this.

Quick question on Officemax ink rewards.
I made a purchase of around $175 in April of this year and I have been going to the store every month (I missed 2 months in between) to drop off 10 cartridges. Can I drop 40 cartridges this month and get $20 each for next 4 months (just to make sure that I don't miss any more months)? Or do I have to go there every month to drop 10 cartridges?

The monthly limit for OfficeMax is 10. Since any amount over 10 is ignored, you do have to recycle carts monthly.
