This seems expensive for a first season. Yes, just new (March 6) - and for those who just cannot wait, I guess.

But expect the price to drop fast.

For those who are signed up for HBO, load the DVR with the first season, then record them out to DVD,
or blu-ray.

Yes...way overpriced. And they wonder why people pirate this stuff?

It's a great show but seriously, $45 for 10 episodes is pretty damn expensive

will be slick when brought down to first week price of Boardwalk Empire (34.99) .... right now, less than before but not slick

Meh not bad IMO. I know I got BoB for like $35 on BD when it was on sale and thought that was a damn good deal for I think 12-13 eps? Anyway HBO does a great job with the extras.

I wouldn't buy it if it was just the eps, but given how good they did the True Blood extras with tons of content added over each episode, and seeing what looks to be added for GoT, I'll drop the $45.

I mean I pay $7-10 for a 1.5hr BD movie, these eps are each a full HBO hour long, not your 43min network hour shows... so /shrug

Wait until the series end, u can get the whole set for the same price, if u can be patient.

been meaning to get around to watching the last 4 episodes but this is kinda pricey so will wait with the rest

I preordered this from Best Buy for the keychain and exclusive cover at 52.99, but this is like Amazon dropping the gauntlet. I wonder if BB will match or at least put up more of a fight. And since my BB preorder is all paid with 2 gift cards, I wonder how the refund would be spread...

Personally, I'm not so sure if I value the cover and keychain at $13+, sigh. Too late to change my mind though.

The picture for episode one is stellar and I was impressed by the DTS-MA track. Go for it, this season is epic although behind the books. Fantastic overall.

Cool. Already had this on preorder when it was $55. I figured it was going to drop. They already adjusted my price. Hopefully it will drop even more before it releases.

For comparison, on BF two years ago, I got Rome complete series for $64 (two seasons) and Deadwood (three seasons) was going for ~$100. Thus, I think ~$32-35 is a deal price per HBO season on bluray. I would agree on waiting to just get the entire set once the series is done for the best price.
