People wanting to checkin later on or some other day do this...i have been pretty successful with this.

1. Go to sidereel.com and query the show, say "Game of Thrones" for Sunday (yesterday)
2. Check what was its last episode that aired yesterday, it was Season 2 Episode 2
3. Go to http://www.free-tv-video-online.me and search for game of thrones and search for this specific episode and play it using the various links available (Warning: unwanted popups).
4. Check In the show.

This way, you might get many episodes on that mentioned website, if not all.

Quote from Viggle rep. :
If the Best Buy e-gift card is restocked, you can view the point value at that time. The Viggle Rewards catalog will continue to change and evolve over time. We intend to add new rewards and replace existing rewards in an effort to keep the Rewards catalog fresh and exciting, and also determine what our members want most.

If nothing else, your examples demonstrate that people should be aware this is a testing phase at best. (I've never heard of any other app or new media project--or even wildly successful products like Blizzard games--paying non-employees this much money to test them, but whatever.)

Saying your time is worth more than the app pays out, that's fine--find another hobby. No one's going to be offended, even those of us with more spare time on our hands.

Acting like Viggle has an unspoken agreement to continue paying out rewards at these absurd ratios, and are jerks if they don't..is crazy. I mean, I've been on board about three weeks and I've gotten about $600 worth of makeup and clothes. That's nuts. Of course I don't want to see it go away, but I'm also able to maintain a grip on rational thought about economics.
It is hard to convey my thoughts about the app to the people who abuse the system like you. Don't get me wrong I am happy for you and those other abusers, and a little bit jealous.

I am on one device, and since the beginning of March I just made it to $200. I felt like I earned every penny. The truth is If I spent my time at a real job instead of viggling I would have made a hell of a lot more money, so it is not like these are huge payouts.

A rational thought on economics perhaps, but not a lick of business ethics, you abuser. ( <---meant to be a playful jab Wink )

The first line itself from their message says it is NOT going to be 37.5K points. Moreover the rewards catalog is far from fresh and exciting with the current point values.

The only change that puzzles me is the decrease in the points awarded per minute for checking into TV shows. Yes, I understand that they want people to check into the featured shows, but the main purpose of the app is also about checking into TV throughout the day.

A decrease from 2 points to 1 may not seem like much, but it does make a difference in points earned. Lowering the points and the amount of available ads encourages people to check into more TV shows, but you would think they would want to at least keep the incentive the same.

I side with rak on this one. Those who think they are "getting free stuff" from Viggle are selling themselves way too short. We are all EARNING money from Viggle on our spare time and yes, it is very easy to do but that does not mean our time is worth nothing.

Focus groups get paid for giving their time and opinions. Where they given free money? How about the people who sit in on timeshare presentations? What about drug trails? It is easy as hell to pop a pill and tell someone how you feel about it. Are those guinea pigs being handed "free stuff?"

It would probably be a little premature to defend Viggle by saying that, "there is no way that they can be making money the way things were/are'" until we know for sure how much they make for every ad we click.

Maybe they just settle on one big pay out up front. If that would be the case then I bet they might loose money if they don't sign a new account by the time their old one's profit margins run out.
I agree that Free was not a proper choice of words...a better way to say it is they were allowing us to earn things at a ratio that was beneficial to us. As you said, if that ratio is no longer beneficial to us, we can and should stop. I don't have a problem with that or with people wishing that it wasn't so. I miss the old days.

You said you agree with rak, but nothing in your post is supporting his POV. He (and others) talked about gaming the system being justified by the cuts. To further your focus group metaphor, is it OK if some of the focus group members steal a few things on the way out because the last focus group they participated in paid better?

As far as Viggle's profitability, I don't have access to their records, but I pointed out a while ago that when the ad were great back in February, Viggle was paying more per viewer than the Super Bowl. Do you really think they were able to charge that? I doubt it, I think it was coming out of their start up money.

And if they were able to charge advertiser more than the super bowl, do you think their clients made that money back? For me to make all the money I did ad mashing, someone had to lose it. Watching a Dove ad for the 1000th time wasn't making Dove anymore money from me than the 100th time.

Whether it is Viggle paying it or the advertisers, there is no way they could afford to pay out as much as they were. Someone was bleeding money and now that is stopping (or slowing).

I do the next day check-ins and let it go for the whole episode time. I just got the bonus plus 2pts per minute a little while ago. I don't know if this is because it's an episode that aired yesterday when points were higher or if they haven't changed yet or what, but just thought I'd put that info out there.
As I said earlier, I am still getting 2pts per min. I'm hoping this means they will not actually lower the points, although it is more likely they just haven't implemented it yet.

I saw that you mentioned that, but it has been confirmed by Viggle that the ppm has been lowered to 1. Not quite sure if it is in effect yet or not, but it will be.

True, but they've given us false information before.

i totally agree with you. If anything I thought they would increase the points for viewing tv shows to provide emphasis on that aspect of their business model.

I won't go into the ethics or whatever of living in a multi-device household, other than to mention I'm only using what we already had, not going out and buying refurb iPods like some people have (and possibly they are the people who are actively mad, not sure). But I'll point out that each device has a weekly earning potential of about $60 if you're not buying stuff with undesirable point ratios (like Best Buy even before whatever is going on with it now). Yeah, the 12k cap is a lot harder to hit than it used to be, but it's possible, especially if you are able to hit the reset. $60/week is still a lot for a little rewards program. I can't even get that kind of savings out of my grocery chain and they get a hell of a lot of money every month from me.

Edit: I'm terrible at figuring out how you guys find official quotes from Viggle (I f'n hate Facebook). Where did they say that BB won't return at the same price point, anyone have a link? I'm not too personally affected because I always hated the point/dollar ratio of the BB cards, but it probably does spell bad things ahead for the other rewards if they become more expensive.

April 8th's Episode of Frozen Planet was called "THE MAKING OF FROZEN PLANET".

http://dsc.discovery.com/tv/froze...guide.html
haha well in that case i guess that isn't just a separate clip from their website. that must be an actual clip from the show. sorry for the confusion guys. my point still stands though about being sure it is from the episode that actually aired for the specific time you are trying to get bonus points for if it wasn't already obvious.....
