i hit some issues with gameplay where it wont let me interact with people/doors/items.

Those that have played both this and Skyrim - how does it compare?

make Skyrim more like Fable. It'll give you an idea of what it's like. Mix Skyrim and Fable, and you have KOA. That my initial impression at least

It depends what you want to compare to

Story:
Skyrim is base on Elder Scroll series so it's hard to compare it exactly if you are into Elder Scroll's lore.

Graphics:
Every preview/review/comment I read people would mention World of Warcraft or Fable.

Gameplay:

• Skyrim is first person, Amalur is third person
• Amalur does not have magic spell customization
• Battle are much more action oriented. You will have to mesh buttons
• Both have faction/guild for you to join[
• Big map to traverse but you can use quick jump to quickly get there.

The amount of stuff there is to do in this game is quickly becoming overwhelming. I have about 30 side quests and 10 tasks on my list right now. I haven't played Skyrim but I like this a lot more than I liked Oblivion. I hope it sells well enough to get a sequel.

Yeah, I've been clearing my side quest list before continuing on with the main story.

I hope this does continue and EA and 38 Studios have stated it's going to be a franchise, though not just limited to video games.

RA Salvatore is an awesome author and writer, with just one caveat:

RA Salvatore killed Chewbacca.

For those who are playing with keyboard and mouse.

Here is a hint for mashing buttons for Reckoning finish move. Press all three buttons after the 2nd hit animation. By the time it tells you which button to press you will be at about 20%, you will guarantee 100% when you finish, and most likely finish ahead of time. You don't even have to press it fast.

This will probably work for console controller, depending how easy to press all three.
