The constitutions of most of our States and of the United States assert, that all power is inherent in the people; that they may exercise it by themselves, in all cases to which they think themselves competent, or they may act by representatives, freely and equally chosen; that it is their right and duty to be at all times armed; that they are entitled to freedom of person, freedom of religion, freedom of property, and freedom of the press. -Thomas Jefferson, June 5, 1824

![]() I am no where near rich. I am now at what I call comfortable. I don't have a real credit card or a bank account. When I want to buy things online I use a prepaid MasterCard or Visa. I paid cash for my Mini after working my ass off and saving money. We put money aside for different things such as; We have an Entertainment Fund, Rainy Day Fund, Christmas Fund and a College Fund for DD. Once the Entertainment fund goes to a point of something we want ... we usually check out CL and see if there is any thing in our price range. So far that entertainment fund has gotten us an Xbox 360 250gb Slim for $150.00, Wii Console $60.00, 55' TV for $140 and the latest is a Mac Powerbook G4 for $125. BTW, the entertainment fund is change and one dollar bills that we put away in a jar and it eventually accumulates. So it gives us plenty of time to think of something we want and that we consider entertaining.

what do you consider well off?
Personally i have shit tons of extra money every month. But i'm also in a decent paying job, live in a very modest rental duplex, dont buy fancy clothes or shoes at all, eat frugally when i eat at home, pretty much havent had a real vacation in 10 years, dont have children or a steady girlfriend that i spend money on, and own an 11 year old mercedes and a 4 year old tahoe. so if someone making about $50k / year and paying all their own bills yet still having enough money to eat out nightly or sit at the bar and hang out with friends 4-5 times a week is "well to do" then I'm it. It's all about perspective. I've got friends that make more money, and bitch about being broke all the time, yet when i see them "out and about" they are wearing $400 worth of clothing compared to my $80 worth. They also feel the need to have $400-$1000 purses for their wives, put their kids in designer label clothes, and have to have the latest things for their kids like smart phones and ipod touches. thats fine for them, but i dont have any sympathy for them at all when they complain about not having money with two parents working and bringing home $120k+/yr. This is due to the retardedness of posters and answering posters in general. thank you, have a nice day. |

![]() One doesn't need to make $120k+ a year in order to be "wealthy" or "well off" - it's all in how one handles their money and what they do NOT spend it on. Those $5 jeans from the Thrift Shop sure do look good on me, and I'm not the least bit afraid to say where I got them from. Gap Jeans for $5 you bet, rather than paying $45 to $50 brand new ![]() Vacation at my BIL's place for free, not a problem, but sure I'll pay the airline fee and/or gas to drive down there. See, there are ways to vacation where it isn't that costly. Nice that family member's have rental places I can go to for free. On the other hand, one hand washes the other with family ![]() It's all about perspective, and things aren't always as it seems here; one must look behind the curtain
