$200 in giftcards after Citi ThankYou Preferred card approval and spending $700 in first 3 months

wack deal, chase offers 300 for 500 in purchases bank of america offered 250,275 if u have a checking account with them after 500 in purchases and gave u no interest as well for 12 mos. plus chase and boa gave you cash, not gift cards.

BOA deal was dead a month ago. Chase deal is only good for FIRST-TIME Freedom card holders. No double dipping if you've ever had a past Freedom card (rules me out).

So, this deal isn't "wack" for everyone.

There's nothing wrong with the deal. You're not limited to only one or two credit cards; I think I have about 12 by now, almost all of them from signing up for these bonus offers.

The real question is, if you hold out, can you get a better deal on a Citi TYP card? I'd have to search the forums for that, and I'm sure someone else will know off the top of their head...

Wish i didn't miss the BoA offer ;( anyone have a link to it so I can feel sad?

Its not like the deals are mutually exclusive. Just get all of them. However there have been past Citi deals that have been slightly better.

This is an absolutely horrible deal. The same card is available elsewhere with a MUCH higher bonus. Is that a referral link?

Which deal? Most citi cards with higher bonus that are not visa, require spending $2500+

Link to the MUCH higher bonus for this same card (with $700 purchase so about $200/$700=28.5% bonus per dollar spent) please?

btw signed up for 31+ cc offers....

oh and actually chase cardholders do qualify for newer promos as long as its within a certain amount of time, i qualified for a 150 cashback, called and they matched to 200 on the spot, then 250 came out, called again and got 250...seriously dude lifes too short, stop getting mad on slickdeals cuz i know more.

Maybe if you wrote your posts with more clarity, it wouldn't be necessary to spoon feed you.

Almost every CC bonus offer to come down the pike stipulates it's for new account holders, but Chase, in particular, are sticklers on this... more so than Citi. What that means is that you can occasionally get a Citi bonus offer for a particular card, cancel that card, then sign up for the identical card sometime later - maybe 6 months - and they'll honor the bonus again.

Try that with Chase Freedom and you'll get nothing the second time around.

I replied to your post in which you stated that this Citi offer was "wack," comparing it to superior offers from BOA and Chase. The BOA is dead, and the Chase Freedom bonus is only for first time Freedom cardholders. Even you if cancel an old Freedom card, reapply for a new one - this $300 bonus for example - AND get approved, you will not receive the bonus.

I was just pointing out that your "wack" post is basically uselss for anyone who didn't previously apply for the BOA offer before it died a month ago AND for any previous Chase Freedom card holders.
