..
long time reader, first time poster.I bought the tv yesturday, and IMO ( im no tv pro ) comparing it to my samsung UN4000, the color accuracy is pretty satisfying. And def not grainy as the reviewer at walmart suggests. However, there's much ghosting, and the blacks tend to be not so good. ( few veriations all the blacks tend to make a big black blob ). If there's someone here thats found some good settings let me know, im still trying to decide if im going to be returning mine. Last edited by akirasan88; 02-01-2012 at 04:24 PM.. |

thanks for the suggestion, i did the firmware update, and honestly i was still not satisfied, mostly because of the horrible blacks, i returned it today, and saw 2 others at the return section.I to was hoping this was a samsung panel, but i honestly doubt it, the blacks were so bad that while watching How to Train your Dragon, one could barley see any details in the dark scenes, I played around with contrast / brightness and nothing worked. I will say one thing, it had VERY good colors while in brighter scenes, but while on dark scenes everything just blurred into each other IMO. Again, im no pro just my observation of the tv, i had for 3 days. I might end up trying the panny from target for roughly the same price, which has nothing but good reviews. |

Sorry you had to return your TV. I've not noticed any issues with dark scenes over any other LCD TV I own (4 different LCD's). What exactly were you watching? DVD, Blu-Ray, cable, Satellite, Netflix streaming? |

Has anyone tried the sony 3d glasses that were on sale at best buy yet? I spent all weekend trying to get 3d to work with no luck.
PS3 recognizes tv as 3d, recognizes 3d bluray as such. TV even picks up on the 3d signal cause when you push 3d button 3d mode is greyed out and in auto. I've been dying for home 3d and very dissapointed this weekend not getting to watch a single one of those darn expensive 3d movies I bought. So anyone that can confirm working glasses please do. Thanks Mike |

I can confirm Sony glasses won't work, but ones that use the LG standard will. HiSense themselves sell their own glasses for $30 (You have to call them).
I have my own huge problem, going to call support on it later. I am using the display for PS3, Xbox 360, PC, etc. All over HDMI (DVI->HDMI for PC. Surprisingly, when it doesn't get sound over HDMI it takes it from the 3.5in stereo in. Nice!). In all cases, the HDMI colors are... washed out, at best. Lighter grays will often flash and flicker, like you would see with a bad cable. Black or dark on any lighter color is surrounded by a white glow. I almost took the TV back thinking the panel was terrible, but then on a whim plugged in the computer via VGA. Instantly perfect; no white glows, bright but highly contrasting colors, good blacks. No setting seems to affect it at all, happens from all my input sources over HDMI and using 11 different HDMI cables (all of which work fine everywhere else I have tried them). |

Ugh now I gotta return 4 pair of sony glasses Wonder if anyone has LG glasses on sale. HiSense website sux I don't want to wait on there shipping. Thanks for the info. You say you used 11 different HDMI cables, but what about the DVI->HDMI converter thing? Could that be your issue? I'm amazed myself at the quality of colors/picture when watching blu-ray on ps3 over hdmi! I think I misread u are only using the adapter for the PC. PS3, xbox would all be direct HDMI? Im sure you did this, but just asking. Did you resetup the display settings for the new tv? -Mike |

I have three DVI-HDMI converters, and one cable that just goes from DVI to HDMI. But yea, the PS3 and 360 are directly connected, no converters there, and they still have the same issues. I have tried playing with every limited setting the TV has. They all have the effect they should, but don't fix the issues. Some of the effects (like the white around black text) seem like a filter or image processing issue, while others (sparkly colors, washed out colors, the brightest red being a dark magenta) seem like a bad signal issue. Since I'm the only one noticing this, I may try to get walmart to give me another set and try that (as getting support from HiSense is starting to look like a no go - at this price that is to be expected). If anyone has a chance, plug a PC in via HDMI and let me know if you see a white bloom around black text on a lighter but not white background. |
