30% Tuesday code~Protect your new electronics and SAVE 30% on warranties today(Tuesday) only! then 20% for the remainder of the week

codes useable at http://www.squaretrade.com/

guide to sign up for ST newsletter/receive instant code added to wiki

Recently SquareTrade has begun resending out the same codes from Tuesday on different days of the week, this is good and bad as it allows for people to receive 30% on more then just Tuesday but there is a chance of re sharing a used code. the safest bet to get a code is to check on Tuesday, as those will all be fresh codes.

BE SURE TO CHECK THE WIKI IF YOU ARE TRYING TO INSURE A LAPTOP OR TELEVISION AS THERE MAY BE BETTER OPTIONS THEN PURCHASING DIRECT FROM ST

good luck getting a code Big Grin and remember you have a month from the purchase date to purchase a warranty for an item

and if you previously purchased a warranty without using a code, if it is within the first month of purchase you can cancel the first warranty and buy another using a code and receive a full refund

remember to post a reply if you are using someones code

and remember reps and thumbs are always appreciated

PLEASE NO TRADING~

this thread is to help people save some money and hopefully when they begin to receive codes from ST they will pay it forward
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

OTHER OPTIONS

TELEVISION:

If you are attempting to purchase a warranty for a television. consider buying one through Costco. **** EDIT See this Post Before you do that. http://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=65110868&postcount=742 A$$-U-Ming that this is still current they may have made a policy change - Please correct if that's wrong.
Their plans are cheaper for TVs more than $700 when compared to warranty purchases directly through ST with a 30% off code.
costco [costco.com]

Example: For a TV with a one-warranty, you will effectively have a two-year warranty if the TV is bought at Costco(A manufacturer's one-year warranty and a one-year Costco Concierge Service Warranty that will kick in when the manufacturer's warranty expires);
costcoconcierge [costco.com]

After these two one-year warranties expire, the ST warranty will be in effect. A 3-year ST extended warranty purchased at Costco is equal to a regular 5-year ST warrantty(The cost of my Costco ST warranty for a sub-$500 TV was only $30, much cheaper than any regular ST warranty with any discount!)

An additional benefit for buying any TV at Costco, even without any extended warranty: Costco will help with any technical Q's and help facilitate a repair at any time. Of course, if there is no warranty in effect, repair costs are paid by you.
Summary: I doubt any retailer has the warranty or customer service that Costco provides. Let me know if you find one!

LAPTOP:
For laptops over $800, you should consider checking out St warranties through amazon
amazon link [amazon.com]

They are already discounted and the price points are divided differently i.e. 700-800 as opposed to the ST website who only offers a plan for 700-999. you will be able to get a more tailored price for your laptop.

Other Alternatives (some FREE) for warranty extensions:
AMEX, Some VISA, some Discover Card, & Some Master Card plans offer a FREE doubling of the manufacturer's warranty up to 1 Additional year.
So if an item has a 90 day warranty many cards will double that to 180days.
A 1 year warranty becomes ~ 2 Years with the CC company.
Not all processes are easy or painless. MUST keep your receipt or pre-submit it to CC company for them to keep on file in case of a problem AMEX is considered the easiest and best to deal with. Certain Discover Card's added this service formally in 2012.
(CALL & CHECK IF YOUR CARD(s) do this

Many VISA's also offer an extended warranty plan for purchase of some Electronics like TVs, Laptops...) (NOT ALL VISA's offer this so you need to call and ask if they do)
Depending on the cost of the item (TVs 3 or 5 year plans, Laptops 4 year plans) determines what the cost of the warranty will be. Some of the tiers around $1000 TVS drop to 9% so it can be quite competitive or better in some cases than S.T.
(CALL & CHECK IF YOUR CARD(s) do this

Can I repurchase my warranty if a larger discount amount comes up?

As of now, ST will only allow a warranty to be purchased 30 Days from the date of purchase - the option for 90 days since purchase has been drastically shortened.

IF another SquareTrade promotion comes along that gives a greater discount then the 30%, you should be able to cancel the 30% code plan and repurchase the warranty with the greater discount IF AND ONLY IF it is still within the first month of the items purchase date.
DO NOT cancel your warranty to try to repurchase with a greater discount if 30 days have passed since you purchased your item or you might end up with no viable means of purchasing a warranty for your item again.

Question: my manufacturer's warranty says I'm responsible for shipping and handling costs if my TV needs servicing within the warranty. SquareTrade says they provide in-home service. I'm guessing that only applies if they are fixing the TV after the manufactuers warranty expires. Anyone know for sure? Sure would be nice to not have to pay to ship a 40" TV if it breaks within the first year.

even after 30% off, price on their own website is too high. For a TV worth $245 their website gave me a quote of $44 and with 30% discount, it comes to around $31.

Same warranty is available at Amazon for $29.

I'd suggest you call ST.
From my understanding, during your manufacturer's warranty period ST will help coordinate/communicate/process warranty claims through the manufacturer. I would think that they need to comply with all the manufacturer's restrictions.

A couple questions:

1 - When does an item become eligible for a ST warranty. I got the Panasonic Viera deal and the item has shipped, but it has not yet been delivered. Can I purchase an ST warranty before I receive the item, or will the retailer's dates cause problems? i.e. is purchase date for a large, online item like a plasma TV the date I make the order? The date it ships (which is typically when the CC is charged, right?)? The date it is delivered?

2 - Is ST really the best option for a Panasonic Viera? I thought I came across something that suggested a different third-party warranty, but I can no longer find it, and I can't recall if it was restricted to smaller TVs (by price or by size) or if it was even valid. Anybody have experiences with ST and/or other third-party warranties that can recommend the best option for a plasma?

TIA!

I just bought a refurbished dell laptop from a deal about a week or two ago. I got a year warranty included with it. I think the rep said that basic 3 additional years would be $180 or 2 years with more stuff included would be $200-300 or whatever. Can someone explain to me in detail how square trade works and if it comes out cheaper(especially with this 30%) everyone is using? Are you guys using 30% off the amount you're paying to cover the entire laptop? Like lets say that i paid $450 for my laptop. With squaretrade, i'd pay 30% off that 450 dollars for what..a year? Since the laptop is refurbished and obviously not new, ill never know what might happen after a year. I regretted not putting additional warranty on another sony and hp laptop i had before this one that were new. Those broken down under a year and two years so i want to invest in this laptop. Can someone explain my options, if it comes out cheaper than dell warranties and everything else ill need to know.

Thank you so much,
Alex G
(Ill rep everyone who helps me out)
