On September 24, 2011 I purchased Prevacid 24hr 28 count and sent it to the address requested in their free product/rebate promotion next day. I included everything requested to qualify to receive my money back and sent it in at least one month before the expiration date.

I waited 10 weeks for my rebate check (which should be only 6-8 weeks) and called Novartis.
They kept me on hold for more than 30 minutes and then told me that I should get the check 7-10 days later.
Now, 6 weeks later I'm still waiting for my rebate check. I called them couple more times , but after they kept me on hold for 20-30 minutes I hang up.

Is somebody having the similar experience? What should I do about this?

There is a thread in the Drugstore/Grocery forum on this rebate, which you can search for. Many people have not received the correct amount if they used UPs, ECBs, etc. for the purchase.

The hold time is long, but you have to persevere. When they answer make sure to ask them if the rebate has been received, processed and when the check was mailed or will be mailed.
