Are they reliable? Wondering if I should send the letter with delivery confirmation or registered mail. Its for an $80 rebate for Norton software. Address is to a P.O. Box.

Symantec rebates are processed by Parago which is pretty reliable. I have not had problem with them in the past and I have submitted over 100 rebates to them. I never submit rebates with delivery confirmation since it adds extra cost. However, I usually send them at the post office and request a date stamp (or meter mail) as a postmark is important.
Nevertheless, there are always human error and that may have led to some complaints. Whenever it is possible, I'll do presubmission online to avoid human error and slightly accelerate the process. Last edited by billcsho; 02-08-2012 at 06:48 AM.. |

Symantec Rebates are reliable
I agree that Symantec Rebates are reliable...and very fast! I've probably done over 200 of them in the past 10 years and I've never had any issue that could not be resolved outside of my own screwup (and sometimes, I've been able to get the CSR to validate anyways! )Most Symantec rebates arrive 4-6 weeks after you mail them. They always use the Visa Debit Card and not a check for the rebate reward. Just make copies of your submission. If you have any problem, you first call their number (866-206-8800) and talk to the CSR. Since they make scans of your rebate submission(even the envelope), they can check it for any processing errors and, possibly, validate right there. If that doesn't resolve it (and it rarely gets to that level), you can always FAX or mail a copy of your rebate submission for reprocessing. The CSR can provide information for that option. BTW - Use their pre-submission process. You not only eliminate any processing errors by the data entry person, but you get a tracking number before you mail the documents. Not sure if it is critical or not, but I also include the confirmation e-mail that arrives @ 1 hour or so later in my rebate submission documents. I prefer to use this if they have the promotion available for this option (they can sometimes be a little slow to getting the promotion available for pre-submission and I've sometimes had to nag them to do so!)
