first time victim of credit card fraud
Hi guys,
This is the first time I've gotten credit card fraud and have couple of questions.
my cc# has been stolen not my cc.
So my cc # has been stolen and the person made 26 pending charges. Good thing Chase caught it in advanced and put a hold on my cc. Chase put a hold because it was out of my purchasing pattern and address mismatch. I found out by getting declined when I ordered food online so I called Chase to find out.
So I will not be held responsible for the charges and a new card will be sent to me.
My questions are:
How did my cc # get stolen in the first place? I only use it for food orders and amazon and nothing else. I don't use the cc outside nor for dining.
Will this affect my credit history?
Is my other cards in jeopardy as well?
Any precaution I should do for now?
Thanks in advance.
