Dish Network Sling Adapter - $30

So I might bite but what all plugs into the back. Is it only USB or do I need to hook up cables also. Plus is the front port hot. I'm already using the back usb for the wifi adapter.

You just plug the sling adapter into any USB port on the DVR, front or back. That's it.

Thanks Now I just need a good router. I'll like dual band. I like my dir-625 from 4 years ago is going bad. It keep dropping connection on my dish box and computer at least once a day and my speed goes from 25mbps download too about 2mbps then back up again then back down. Thinking the router. Any suggestions

Can someone clarify something about Blockbuster @ Home? I have Blockbuster by Mail currently (1 DVD at a time). Does the @ home service also offer DVD's by mail?

With dish you get one in the mail. I think you can get 2 for a little more. The service really is $10 a month but you get a few extra channels with it. It stopped it thinking I didn't want it but then lost some channels only to find out that is what the $10 charge was for.

I've had a sling adapter for 2-weeks. Got the $99 deal w/ $99 rebate. After not getting it to work initially and some troubleshooting, it was determined by Dish that my speed was too slow. Why they don't ask you this upfront I don't know. So I upgraded my speed from 1.5M to 10.0M, after one week of resetting this and resetting that it still doesn't work. I can access my receiver and delete dvr's, but I can't access live t.v. or recordings.

You will learn a lot about networks, modems, routers, firmware, etc. Not that I really wanted to. I've taken a week off from this, as I have more important things to do. This should be a plug and play device, but for some (just search google, it looks like there's a few billion of us that can't connect for tons of reasons) it's no go. I see where a lot of people get error 36. I always get error 31 NOW. Was various errors initally. So I am proud of the fact that I get error 31 consistenly. I feel that I'm very close to connecting, but can't find the right person to help.

Now I'm at the point where Dish says maybe my ISP is blocking something and my ISP says it's a Dish issue. LOL

So best of luck to those of you who get in on this "deal". Cross your fingers that it works the first time.

Got mine yesterday worked flawlessly. The only thing is that it uses TV2 as Sling viewing device if the receiver is in dual mode. So TV2 will not be available when watching remotely.

I had so much trouble getting this deal. I finally after the third chat and second call got $15 off the box.

Yes, when you sign up for Blockbuster@Home it will combine your accounts as long as the email address is the same on the dish account as the blockbuster account.

Most of the issues come from DSL accounts. There are settings that have to be adjusted to get a proper connection. Please contact me directly and I will assist you with getting the sling adapter working.
