The power supply is fine - we have used hundreds of them for a while with no failures. For some reason, the non-technical reviewers on Newegg seem to always give low ratings to power supplies, all power supplies.

Keep in mind, also, that reviewer comments that a ps is "DOA" means the reviewer tried to run the power supply by itself without shorting out the proper pins (The contacts for the case switch must be connected for the ps to operate when not connected to a motherboard).

Not hard, you're going to need to buy the OS though.

Also, if you want it for gaming, you need a better power supply unless you're willing to just use a card that's around a 100 bucks.

No. Your card will not be gimped in any fashion. Depending on your current CPU and games, this may not be much of an upgrade though.

As in you'd get a better motherboard and add in a video card? Seems like a decent enough plan to me, you could probably get $40 for the motherboard unopened on Craigslist. Maybe.
