It's really only a great deal for people buying upper-level lenses...the L series lenses end up an extra $100-200 off, so, upgrading a body and an L lens could be a nice discount.

Crap ... just ordered the 70-200 f/4L IS with the $150 rebate yesterday.

Oh I see, it is only 2x if bought with a body. Now I don't feel that bad even though I want to buy a 60D.

Tempted to get the 24-70mm but I kinda want to hold out for the new one if/when it comes out

Hard to say. The last round of rebates that just ended were in effect at most retailers, but, some of them sold lenses/cameras at deals better than the minimum priced the rebate listed. I imagine Amazon/B+H/Adorama will have it no doubt...B+H had a specific page for it back in November.

Hopefully they keep the body prices low so it makes some of these deals really interesting
