I've ATT u -verse and finally after 3 years we get another internet company in our area. Thanks to charter Big Grin

I'm getting the 30mpbs charter internet line so I was wondering which cable modem would be a good choice for me??Looking to spend less than $75 and don't really care about 30mbps as long i get 20 mbps + i'm good but i do need a good Wi-Fi signal for lots of devices (i'm not sure if i need a router for that) I didn't want to lease a modem cuz that's waste of money in long run. So help me out here people i know we got some super geeks on SD Stick Out Tongue will rep each response +4 thanks

EDIT:
another question?? will i need separate router on top of this cable modem for charter??for wi-fi and stuff???

If you want to get your money's worth from the connection you're paying for, you will want a Docsis 3.0 modem. I don't know of any special deals for them right now, but this one is good and it costs $0.05 less than $75 Stick Out Tongue

If you really don't care about 30MB/s and aren't worried about buying a new modem when they bump up internet speeds even more, then you can get something like this for $30:

I have owned both of them and they worked very well. If you'd like to get a modem+router in one, there are options for that, but I'd recommend keeping them separate. Wifi technology improves more frequently than modems do, and if you want to stream movies over your network or anything like that, it'd be nice to upgrade to wireless ac when it comes out without paying extra for another modem + router combo. Standalone routers are also generally more reliable and have better features than the ones that come with cable modems.
