Most of those Amazon reviews are from the Vine program...I'm not convinced that those reviews weren't paid for.

Has anyone experienced these speakers? I want to jump the gun, but I don't know enough.

I've heard these speakers but don't own them. I thought they sounded good. I probably would say overpriced at $500, but at $200 they'd seem like a very good value to me.

i have an older model from 2 years ago in this series that i purchased for $150. i wouldn't pay $500 (for $500 there are better "slick deals", especially on 2 pair (4) of floor-standing going for around $500 sometimes on slickdeals) but for $200 they are worth it. these are good for a bedroom or about a 15x15 to 20x20 max room. Be sure u have a good audio/video receiver like a Denon or Onkyo with at least 500W (Dont go any lower wattage receivers than 500W, if u have a cheap receiver u might as well forget it). (not Sony or Bose, Sony/Bose sux) They may be small speakers but they go loud!!! The sub sounds good all the way till about -10 to -5db (thats loud, your neighbors will hear/feel it - it rattles my windows). I have my sub in the center, in bigger rooms u may need 2 subs one in front center and another in back center to "even" out the sound since the small speakers are mainly "highs" and your only good "lows" will come from subwoofer. Overall for a $200 price i would give these speakers and sub package a 4.7 outta 5 rating with the right audio receiver. These JBL Cinema 300 5.1 are mid end and perfect for those with limited space considering they are super easy to wall mount. If you want closer to HIGH end then get floorstanding/bookshelf speakers/monitors for about $600 as i imagine the JBL 190.5 series will probably blow out your windows :-) Hope quick review helps you guys out.

Anybody heard these AND the Boston Accoustics Soundware S (SWSHTSB) that Vann's has today for $299? The BA's have a higher MSRP than the JBL's, but at this price point, the JBL's really look pretty appealing.

How does this compare with Energy Take 5.0 speakers that was on $150 last Saturday?

Amazon has Onkyo 7.1 for 179.95 with Prime free shipping. Never compared JBL with Onkyo but thought of sharing.
