This is a really good price because of the recent HDD shortages because of the floods. They are now starting to ramp up production to have lower prices

Buy via eBay has a portable Toshiba 1 tb drive for $90 via Daily Deals.

Considering the flood caused shortages, this seems like a pretty good deal at the moment. I got my wife the 500GB model for x-mas and it works pretty well so far. Got it for $30 from Best Buy after they failed to honor my online purchase of a 300GB USB 2.0 model (awesome!!!!). Portable drives have come a long way from the huge bricks with separate power adapters. I was amazed that it was the size of a current smart phone and only needed one cable. My only gripe is that the cable connects to the hard drive with what appears to be a proprietary port. So better not loose that cable!

Is this a 2.5" drive or 3.5"? The word 'portable' implies 2.5" but i'm not too sure. I'm wondering cause i would like to put it in my ps3 if possible.

Awesome deal, this was cheaper from Staples with coupon, but I missed that and bought it for $120 (after tax) at Walmart. I'll keep the Walmart one, since it was easier and faster to pickup and return, but otherwise I'd be on this in a flash.

I have one of these (it was a gift) and the cable connector went bad on me (like so many others have experienced). It was cheaper to get an external enclosure w/ USB 2.0, so I did that. Even when doing that though, I still get the dreaded click-click-click sound on the drive itself - and that's using both USB connectors to supply enough power to the drive. I even disable USB suspend and don't enable delay write.

You have been warned.
