So basically half the people here scared the s*** out of me by saying I'm going to get in trouble with this..and being a college student I don't want to deal with it...

Hopefully it benefits the people that are actually looking to get a good price on items that are overpriced to begin with.

Thanks for the tip.

Just came from the local Staples and of course CSR tells me that someone else already called for item and they couldn't find it. On-line checker said "low stock clearance item". Confused

awesome bit of information. Repped, OP.

However, feels like it won't be long before some inept person messes this up in some way (trying to log onto a store computer, asking a staples employee....which is the opposite of what we want to do, etc.) and the password is changed.

I used to work at Staples, and sometimes we really don't have the item even though it shows up in inventory. There are specific situations where the item was sent back as damaged and the warehouse hasn't updated their system yet. Hope that helps.

Of course this does no good if the "staff" are "sequestering" said clearance item in the back.

Is it possible to do the same, if we access the store kiosk online by entering the store number?

just FYI.. what is A, F, R, I ? what does each signify?

This will be useless once you get BLACKLISTED/BANNED from Staples Stores!

Enjoy! Rain

I was always stuck with the password page. Somtimes a previous staple staff might forget to log out so that I can view the inventory, but most of the time I was asked to type in the pw. I never know they use an universal pw. Good job OP.

I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section of SD, just trying to help you guys out since I feel like I found something that helps out way more than the normal inventory checker online.

Instead of using the inventory checker online which only displays "Low Stock Clearance Item", you can go into the Staples Store and try to find the computer that they usually have towards the back (for customers to place orders online).

Afterwards, click on services on the top right tab, and it'll ask you if you want to log out, say yes.

Click on "Staples Associate Homepage" (one of the services), and log in with the password: associate.

Now that you are logged in you can type in the SKU and you can get specific information about the quantity of the item available as well as what stage it is in (A, F, R, I). It will even tell you the specific quantities of items available in the other stores as well, so next time you go and they tell you it's not available you know that they are lying to you!

Hope this helped, and if it was in the wrong section I apologize I just thought it was a very "Hot Deal" since it will be much easier to score deals now.

Agreed. This is shady. And what if they say they don't have but it shows in the inventory checker it does? Does one through a tantrum then? I'm envisioning a cross between the Meiniekie "I'm not gonna pay a lot for this muffler" guy and Michael Douglas's character from "Falling Down."
