Yeah , but if they vary too much from what you already have then you may need your truss rod adjusted after you put them on. Changing the gauge of your strings even slightly changes the pressure being put on your neck a lot.

I like a good deal but I'm just starting and my fingers are killing me! The truss rod adjustment changes the neck tension and action (space between string and neck) right?

Yes, you can use these. I would change all strings. It all depends on how you play. If you strum hard for say rockyou would want heavy strings. Like Markleys. If you play jazz and strum light you get a softer sound thats better for notes instaed of chords.

light just means they are thinner. Thinner strings are easier to bend and have lots of play. For a beginner id stick with a medium set. Light strings will break easier too.

They do have good sound and feel, but only for about a week (and that's with not playing a whole lot). The tone goes very quickly on these. Granted, they are cheap, but next time I need strings, I'm going for Elixirs. They're more expensive, but they last a whole lot longer.
