Thread Details

I was looking at the Mirak Sectional from Dania: Dania - Sectionals - Mirak Sectional with Ottoman []

It seems nearly identical to the Ikea Kivik []. Could maybe even made in the same factory in China for all I know.

At the lower end of the price range, what's the quality difference between an Ikea sofa and something else?

Any marked opinions plus or minus on the Kivik or Karlstad sofa with chaise?

Or suggestions for a suggestions for a lower-budget sectional in this price range? I don't need it to last forever, so I see no reason to pay up for something that will.

not sure I'd go with Ikea furniture. It won't last forever--it won't even last a month, and assembly on most of their stuff is ridiculously hard. There should be a different low cost alternative that you could get.

Ikea is disposable furniture. For some things it is decent, I got 2 cheap bookcases for like $80 each that serve their purpose. If you want real furniture I suggest looking elsewhere. You can most likely get a couch that will last for only slightly more money. Take a look at furniture stores and explore the sales and promotions they have. Also, so furniture stores have outlet centers that offer huge discounts, I got a couch in college that way and it was like 60% off.
