What possible rebate issues exactly?
Also how did you find out about this?

I was just about to buy a couple of fans. I'm not sure if these will fit the same bill, but if they're really free I'm not going to say no...

Newegg sent out an email about the fans being FAR.
I read an older front page deal here on SD for this same sort of thing, and apparently no one gets their rebate unless they pester Xigmatek relentlessly, some even filed BBB complaints before they got the rebate.

I was about to pull the trigger but then figured for $10 it's not worth the hassle of dealing with them.

(last thread mentioned it is 1 person who handles all rebates for them, and that she also does other duties).

As always Newegg reaps the rewards for these kinds of things, since they get to advertise their products as "free" and then when people start having rebate problems it's none of their business. Newegg won't honor any advertised "after rebate" price in any way.

This is actually a money making deal if you got the 20% off coupon from newegg, however, Xigmatek rebate is always risky. Nevertheless, my last submission in October was approved a couple weeks ago. I was told to expect payment next week in check or paypal. Until then, I would not take another risk..

That is not true. Newegg's customer service has been helping their customer to fight for their rebate and sometimes even out of their own pocket. You'll find more case like this in the forum. Although this is likely a YMMV.

I was given the impression otherwise, but I'll take your word for it.

These rebates usually say something about "will not rebate more than the sale price," so I wouldn't necessarily expect a money maker (not that you'd be getting much anyways).

You're better off emailing the rebate email. I got a response within a day and got my rebate processed through paypal a few days after. When you call, it'll say that if you are calling about a rebate status to email them.

But yeah, for people thinking about this deal, you WILL have to contact xigmatek about the rebate. If you can't be bothered with that, don't expect to get the rebate. I submitted my rebate last Oct. but didn't get the money until 3 weeks ago AFTER I emailed them.

Xigma is just a clever disguise by Sigma!
he simply used the X from the series he shows up in and replaced the S in his name with it!

I jumped in for a money making deal in October with Xigmatek rebate at newegg. I'll see in a week or two when my check arrive. From my past experience, it is not likely to adjust the rebate amount due to coupon discount.

Whoever that want take the risk, make sure you copy every thing before submission and call/e-mail them in 12-weeks after the postmark deadline. Contacting them before the12-week period does not help at all and will make you frustrated.
