Note that you won't get the rebate UNLESS you contact them. Make sure you keep copies of the rebate. I submitted mine in Oct., contacted them a few weeks ago and got my rebate honored within a few days with the money deposited into my paypal account. Doesn't make the rebate not terrible, but there is hope. Just wait for the period of time it says the rebate should take, then penis them. rebate@xigmatekamerica.com

Download CutePDF so that anything you can print, you can save in pdf.
Download FoxitPDF reader so you can fill out rebate forms in PDF form.
Scan everything you send in to the rebate house. Save to pdf in your rebates sent folder
Keep a excel spreadsheet of the rebates you send out and a number email where you can reach them.
If you track them, they will come... Hopefully!!!......
In the past, you can call and talk to a real person. That was when you might be able to make them to send you a rebate check. But it's NO MORE...
Now when you call them, you only get a recorded message stating that you need to email them. When you email them, you'll get an auto-reply message back telling you to keep waiting.... Totally BS!

What possible rebate issues exactly?

Newegg sent out an email about the fans being FAR.
I read an older front page deal here on SD for this same sort of thing, and apparently no one gets their rebate unless they pester Xigmatek relentlessly, some even filed BBB complaints before they got the rebate. I was about to pull the trigger but then figured for $10 it's not worth the hassle of dealing with them. As always Newegg reaps the rewards for these kinds of things, since they get to advertise their products as "free" and then when people start having rebate problems it's none of their business. Newegg won't honor any advertised "after rebate" price in any way.

This is actually a money making deal if you got the 20% off coupon from newegg, however, Xigmatek rebate is always risky. Nevertheless, my last submission in October was approved a couple weeks ago. I was told to expect payment next week in check or paypal. Until then, I would not take another risk..

These rebates usually say something about "will not rebate more than the sale price," so I wouldn't necessarily expect a money maker (not that you'd be getting much anyways). But yeah, for people thinking about this deal, you WILL have to contact xigmatek about the rebate. If you can't be bothered with that, don't expect to get the rebate. Whoever that want take the risk, make sure you copy every thing before submission and call/e-mail them in 12-weeks after the postmark deadline. Contacting them before the12-week period does not help at all and will make you frustrated. Last edited by billcsho; 02-07-2012 at 06:02 AM.. |
