just want to point out that there are other games bundled with the active life mat on amazon for less. reviews are not as good as outdoor challenge, but fyi nonetheless

My 4 yr. daughter love Active games. I was stuck since I gifted away my two other modded Wiis to relatives and new version do not support these. I had to search on Craigslist to buy old version just for these games. this particular game is costliest of all three. I do not think I have seen a better price for 'Outdoor Challenge' in last 2 years.
For family with kids, I recommend to buy this one and Active explorer ! great fun for kids and moreover, a nice way to workouts in winter months.

I have one of each and don't like how the latest version doesn't have GameCube controller slots.

Why change a good thing? Sometimes cheaper isn't better.

Looks like Nintendo is dusting off the ole Power Pad for the original NES. Brings me back... [nostalgic smile]

Of course the new Wii will sell less than the old Wii, it won't be around as long. The Wii U (or whatever they end up naming it) is coming out this year (if you believe what Nintendo says) so the Wii, as it is, is on its last legs (and the release schedule for the Wii this year is seriously petering out as well). Fact of the matter is many other items which need the gamecube ports have been discounted/clearanced by retailers due to the new Wii not having the ports needed to play. Many people have gotten into Wii's in the last couple of months due to the price drops and ready availability (remember the 'old days' when there were posts like WII IN AD so people could camp out for them? I do.)

And there are no such thing as games that "only" work with the new Wii, btw

I know where you are coming from! hardware, graphics, online play ..... blah blah blah .....
Please understand Wii is for family with kids and for casual gaming. Wii was 4-5 years ahead of PS3 and XBOX when they came out with motion controllers. I agree they are sliding, but still holds a lot of value if you want to keep your kids away from hardcore games. Just look at the no. of games Nintendo has developed over the years for kids. (and for kid inside everyone)
I have PC gaming setup for myself, but I am more tempted to turn on Wii for 15-30 minutes of casual gaming.

Oh, I totally recognize the Wii has a place in the video gaming world. And even their motion stuff that they still produce seems to work better for children than Kinect stuff does. Having both, the Wii has yet to collect dust as it is powered up at least once a week if the three-year old wants to play Wii Fit Nick Jr. But I see things like having to interact with the controller and mat and realize just how far the Kinect is ahead of the Wii and especially PS3 Move at this point.

Of course, it will all seem archaic in a year or so! lol
