just so people know this is a china made model that various companys are throwng their name on like kguard etc. same chipset..

best you can get is D1 @ 7fps with all 8 channels running.
the cameras that come with it are cheap and you will find yourself wanting a ccd camera with at least 560 lines of resolution to identify anybody you don't know.

the price of hard drives as of today hurt it too. 1TB will get you about 25 days of 24/7 recording.

I have 20 cameras on my property so i know what i'm doing

I got this a few months ago on woot, its pure shit. 2 cameras stopped working within a week, you have to buy a 24/7 HD, the connection cables are super thin, oh and the power transformer for the dvr crapped out before the cameras did... I have also a defender and its a MUCH better product.

Forgot to mention that the resolution is pretty bad too, can't tell who the person is from 10 feet away, and at night forget about it.

From reviews, the DVR is good, but cameras are crap. It is a good deal if you have a spare sata HDD laying around. I would use cameras, on something you don't need high quality such as a sump pump, and get nice CCD cameras for areas that matter the most. My .02.
