Keep the Internet Free. Sign petition against ACTA here.

I know this is not necessarily a "hot deal", but it is in desperate need of attention and signatures. This international "treaty" has already been signed in by numerous countries around the world, but can effectively be stopped in it's tracks by signing this petition to ask the European Parliment to turn down the bill....which would negate all the bills already signed in around the world.

I hope that the mods will allow it to at least stay here in the Hot Deals section for a few days or so to (hopefully) gain some momentum, as this is something that will effect all internet users and websites, including SD.

Bah....should of known they would send it over here to you clowns. Didn't SD recently go through some sort of litigation for a similar issue resulting in us now having to cite all of our quotes from articles? I would of thought they'd be a little more lenient with this. Oh well.

I got the email about these acts as well. It's your typical caste system where those who have assumed charge will do what they want even against opposition to the people. It's the same way health care got passed.

Most things pass unnoticed because most people including myself don't bother with all the boring, incomprehensible BS that goes into these bills/treaties/etc. However, when enough people voice their opposition, it does/can have an effect. Proof of this is the SOPA / PIPA stuff that was shot down because of the public uproar.

And people don't give a shyte about their health, but don't fark with their internet
