Could any of you guys check your new monitors to see whether you experience the following problem? Display black image 1920x1080 on full screen, then stand up so you are looking at the monitor from the top, at an angle of 45 degree or less. Can you see uneven backlight distribution? I can see the following shape which is considerably brighter than other parts of the screen http://oi40.tinypic.com/ilkdwi.jpg. Let me know - thanks!

I was about to buy and it showed up that it wouldn't be delivered until the first week of March. The rebate expires 30 days after your purchase. if they don't charge you until you it gets shipped then it might not ship during the Feb only window. If they produce the order right away you might be in trouble waiting for the original UPC.
Good deal though, but might be some risk there. |

If you are patient I'd say hold out for another Staples Acer 23'' Deal that runs about $85 after coupon. I'm staring at one now and it's pretty great, clear screen, great colors. This monitor for $120 is a good deal, but I doubt it's much better than my 23'' Acer I got for $85 because I've had several monitors including this Asus and the Acer I'm looking at is about the same.

I purchased this monitor from Amazon around Christmas time. I think I paid $130 or so for it, after rebate. This is my first LCD, having been a die-hard CRT user forever. I'm very happy with my purchase.
This monitor is an excellent gaming monitor, as it has incredibly low input lag (if any at all), and is the official monitor for a professional gaming league. http://forums.majorleaguegaming.c...l-monitor/ |
