Got my free iron today. I was worried because I didn't respond to the email within 3 days. I had to edit the html to add in a submit button because they seemed to remove it after the 3 days were up. This is great because I broke my 5 iron a couple years ago and it is my most used club.

Any experts have recommendations on shaft type? I don't really don't know the practical difference between steel and graphite and between stiff and regular.

Maybe you can tell your age, body type? stiffness depends on your swing speed. If you are in the 20-30s, you can probably go stiff or regular. Go regular if you have a relative easy swing.

If you are older and sense you are loosing speed and your body doesn't rotate as fast, then you should consider regular or flex shaft.

As far as shaft material goes, x-stiff/stiff/regular - steel. regular/flex - graphite.
Steel gives you more control and full feedback, but graphite is lighter and easier to work with.

(I didn't go over the X-stiff assuming you are just getting into golf)
