Thanks, OP. Love Icebreaker stuff. Unfortunately a lot of stuff is out of stock in my size, but still got the hat and made use of the 20% off coupon on one other item.

To those that don't know, Icebreaker makes some of the best Merino wool clothing. Their wool comes from New Zealand, but are made in China.
I have their GT260 Pursuit leggings and I love it. Doesn't itch (unlike Patagonia's Merino 3), doesn't smell, warm when in cold environment, cool when in warm environment, breathes very well. Highly recommended. Only thing about Icebreaker baselayers is, the fit is very small and tight. Sizes are usually 1 size smaller than what you would normally wear, so size up! Backcountry.com also has 30%+ off most of their Icebreaker stock: http://www.backcountry.com/store/...ricelowbcs Best deal I found is 60% off their GT200 Sprint leggings for men. Better hurry because they only have a few left. Only comes in XL (and XXL in legless): http://www.backcountry.com/icebre...ns-ice0535 http://www.backcountry.com/icebre...ns-ice0536 |

Wow, no love for this 44% off sale?
I guess most Slickdeal'ers have no clue just how high quality Icebreaker products are and how rare 44% off their products is... Hint: They make better baselayers than any outerwear company. IMO, their midlayers are also better than Patagonia, The North Face, Arc'teryx, etc. if you prefer Merino wool over synthetics. Last edited by Gambit16; 02-10-2012 at 07:14 PM.. |

If you see something out of stock, you might try checking back periodically. The pocket 200 was OOS in most colors yesterday along with the Apollo SS Crew and V in my size. Today they came in stock, which is when I place my order.
Just takes one good merino wool item to realize the quality, and benefits even at full price let alone the sale prices. |

If i could afford it, every piece of clothing that touches my body would be Icebreaker merino.

I've always been skeptical of Merino wool, since they all seem to itch on me... even from extremely high quality name brands like Patagonia. When I got the GT260 Pursuit leggings 2 months ago, I couldn't believe how it didn't itch (maybe a scratch from time to time) and how comfortable it was (very stretchy and form-fitted). Then, I was amazed at how I can wear this thing for an entire week straight, sometimes sweating a bit, having no need to wash it, and not have it stink. On top of all that, I couldn't believe that it kept me warm (layered of course) in extremely cold, windy conditions, then kept me cool when I was indoors (still with a layer on). Oh, and the stitching is top-notch (quadruple stitched everywhere). No holes... yet. I can't vouch for the other Icebreaker weights and garments, but the Pursuit is absolutely amazing. Perfect baselayer IMO. Again, it is VERY small and tight. Sizing up at least 1 size is a MUST. |

I used to think the pricing on merino wool was outrageous (still do a bit) but I decided to give it a try. My first experience with merino wool was with Smart Wool socks and I absolutely loved them. I do a lot of outdoor activities and those wool socks are PERFECT for hiking. I can't really imagine going on hikes without them anymore.
Decided to give merino wool shirts a try and decided to get the Icebreaker Apollo Crewe and I loved it. I sweat like a pig when I climb and it wicks moisture really well. Its also really breathable. It'll keep you cool when its hot, and as a baselayer, will keep you warm when its cold. Decided to return it though cause I just couldn't afford it. If you live an active life, I'd recommend Icebreaker or any other company that uses merino wool (Smart Wool and Patagonia). Its also great for people who travel a lot. You could sweat like a pig and still wear it for a whole week straight. It dries really well and doesn't EVER smell bad no matter what you do in it. Like Gambit said, I'd definitely size up for Icebreaker. |

I got an Icebreaker Oasis crewe (200 weight), and it itched. Not a ton, but enough to be freaking annoying over the week I tried it out. Which was really a shame, because it did regulate temperature amazingly well, keeping me cool when it was warm and warm when it was cold.
Any idea if their "superfine" is really any better than the standard fabric? Does washing it with hair conditioner really help with the itch? |

Found 3 pairs of technical wools socks for $20, if you do the newsletter signup. That's an awesome price for first quality wool socks.
