what do you plan on doing with this ? d525 1.8ghz duel core atom + ion graphics will do 1080p @ 24fps playback without stutter. not for gaming not for video editing Great for: running a media pc with windows 7, xbmc live, ubuntu etc.. |

FYI, now that 10-bit codecs are becoming more mainstream and people are starting to use them to encode files, the atom processor on this is going to choke trying to decode them. It won't even be able to handle 720p 10-bit encodes. I have an atom with ion gpu board that supports hardware decoding of 8-bit encodes, but it can't handle anything in 10-bit. Hopefully they'll start adding 10-bit hardware decoding to the next generation of video cards so I can keep using it for a few more years, otherwise, I'll have to try and build a cheap i3 htpc next to replace it and retire the atom to use as a nas server or something. Mine is an ASUS, but my friend has a Zotac and he has the same issues.

Keep in mind that this doesn't come with memory or an HD. You have to buy those separately and install them yourself.

I have a C-50 netbook used for media playing. I use VLC Player for RMVB but Splash Pro for bluray/mkv. Will this mini desktop pc still choke on? I understand that the CABAC coded files are a killer for many weaker GPU/CPU's |
