Onkyo TX-NR609 7.2 THX receiver for $299 + tax. B&M FRYS

Just picked up this receiver at Fry's for $299.99 plus tax. Did a search and this seems to be a good current sale price for this receiver. I also saw the Onkyo tx-nr709 for $649.99 plus tax. I will be pairing the tx-nr609 to the Boston Acoustics soundware s system that was on sale a few days ago at Vanns for $299. Is there anything else I could have done better as far as pricing and quality of sound on a compact home theater system? I'm definitely a noob and would appreciate some expert advice.

I have the 360 paired with the onkyo 7.2 speaker set that newegg had on sale a few weeks back. Sounds great. Tons of features.

While Frys has it at 299 plus CA tax. If buying S7409, is it reasonable to pay around 130-140 extra for this mediocre speaker set?

I caught that too. That's why I was having a hard time picking between the Pioneer 1021 and the Onkyo nr609. The Pioneer has advanced room calibration and airplay but the Onkyo has 4k upconvert, thx, pandora, and a $29 dongle for wireless streaming. Both of them are $300. It's really a tough choice at this price....

Be sure to take advantage of hooking it up to the Internet because getting instant Pandora without the need for a computer is awesome. I bought mine for the same price, also at Frys. It goes on and off sale, but $299 is the best price I have seen, and you definitely get your money's worth out of it.
