Neither of these bags qualifies as "expensive". I don't see any indication that the bag you linked to is affiliated with the Boy Scouts. It's branded "Scout Camping", which doesn't appear to have anything to do with Boy Scouting. I didn't see a single review on that second bag either. OP's bag seems like it's well liked by a lot of people.

FYI, that second bag is insulated with down. It's principle advantages are it's lighter and more compressible than synthetic fibers like the kind used in the bag OP has suggested. At similar weights, I would expect the second bag to be warmer than the first. But down's one big disadvantage is that it loses its ability to loft and therefore insulate if it gets wet. And it takes a long time to dry out.

So it's sort of an apples to oranges comparison. OP's would be a better choice if you want something that's going to provide at least some insulation even if it gets damp. KJ's choice will likely be lighter, pack smaller and is probably warmer - as long as you have a waterproof tent and pack it somewhere it can't get wet.

A couple of comments from a Boy Scout leader:

I bought this Suisse sport bag last year (for approx this same price, but i have seen it higher and lower)and used it quite a bit. I was very impressed with it. Ultra compactable is no joke, when packed in its compression sack this is one of the smallest bags I've seen. It's not too heavy, so it's great for keeping the load small and light when hiking. I have used it in temps as low as 30 degrees fahrenheit, and was comfortable.

The boy scout bag linked above is actually one manufactured for and sold by the BSA, and I am always pretty happy with the quality of their gear. I believe the linked bag is actually one that they clearanced out last fall. If you wanted to buy a BSA bag, I would suggest you consider getting it from www.scoutstuff.org - buying direct from BSA helps support a very good cause.
