lol, some people can not type without looking. if you tilt the screen to illuminate keyboard, u can not see the screen. the ture reason of useless backlit keyboard is that you should NOT use computer in dark, kill your eyes!

I previously bought a laptop and added backlit keyboard b/c of the hype, but really is useless for me.
typing everyday, by now it is easy to know where all the keys are without looking.
and using the laptop in near dark that I can't even see the keyboard is rare and strains eyes real quick.

sure, backlit keyboards are pretty cool looking, but in bright light, you can't even really tell the difference,

and yes, the light from the screen is plenty bright. i can see my entire keyboard and even read a book using the light from my laptop screen. i wouldn't recommend reading a book like that...just saying that it's possible.

That's true, I didn't think about that. But I hardly ever use the F keys, I also pretty much only type a few sequences of #'s so I them down to muscle memory & my keyboard has a keypad so they're easier to punch in for me, & the only symbols I use frequently are the "&, (, and )" symbols & I have those down to muscle memory too haha.
