For this program to work well, you need to be able to get updates several times a year. Why? The copyguard methods are always mutating.

I was happy to pay for my DvdFab lifetime license. Within a day they get the latest patches when new copyguard hits.

I noticed on the website for this freebie they are mentioning a "Christmas Special". A little dated?
Tough to turn down freebies, but I will pass since I have the best already.

that's odd. I'm using DVD Decrypter which hasn't been updated since 2007 or something like that and I'm still able to decrypt everything other than Disney films (which I'm not too broken up about).

I loved DVD Decrypter until it stopped being updated.
It does not break the newer Sony either.
Between Sony and Disney I can't do without them. I had to move on. Back in those days DVDShrink was good enough to Rip and burn also. When one of the two would not work the other one did usually. Now both are out of business for updates, yet I still use DvdShrink exclusively for my burning (linked to Nero) after ripping with DvdFab.

Most any of these ripping progs will decode most DVDs. Not good enough. I have tried many. I prefer a streamlined solution as possible. DVDFab I still don't really trust for burning like Shrink.
DVDFab handles Ripping them all, and will continue to be updated with the proper support it deserves, knock on wood. To each their own, but why settle?

This ended up working for me on exactly 10 DVDs, and now the program just shuts down directly after it opens up.

I have restarted my computer, thinking maybe that was it. It still does it.

Apparently this was just a trial version then, for 10 uses???

Weird thing is, it doesn't try to upgrade me to a full version or anything, the program just shuts down all of the sudden.

Went back to WinX, which I got free on a different Slick Deal, and it works fine.
