Yes, HD receivers come with a HDMI port and cables. Lots of reading because there are many different packages you can choice from based on what your are interested in watching and how much you want to spend.

No dilema at all. I have 8 tvs in my man cave that I use for watching sports plus an additional 3 tvs for other viewing throughout the house. DirecTV can easily handle all the tuners with their multiswitches. I have Premier as it includes all the premium channels and since I have that I usually get great discounts on the out of market sports packages.

Yeah, this is the first time everyone is getting a discount on the 2nd year. They have been offering the 2nd year discount in select markets but now it's national. With that said, you can usually get discounts through out your contract to help lower your cost.

Be aware that their contract doesn't have a provision to cancel your contract ETF-FREE if they raise their prices (and they seem to every year).
In their contract it pretty much says they can raise the price if they want to. You can probably fight it, but do you really want a contract like that?
I argued with them and got a credit to offset the raise for the next two years, but it still annoys me.
They won't raise your price on the first year but after that all bets are off.

Yes, Premier would be $89.99 for 12 months and then $109.99 for months 13-24 of your 24 month contract. As noted in the OP, each receiver after your first one has a $6 monthly mirror programming charge. Directv mirrors your programming from your main box to all the other boxes so you have the same programming throughout your home. If you only have one box then you don't pay this fee since you have nothing to mirror.

Service is back on within a couple of minutes, during the storm. As for the English speaking, never had a problem with that. Not sure I agree with the 90% opinion on that issue.
