Might have been a little bit douce, but a way to cancel the membership without call-in, is to go here [skyguideclub.com], and log in with your membership # (which you should have received in both email confirmation (on the same day that you signed up for this promotion) and in regular mail later), zip-code, and your email (used during the sign-up). After logging in, on the left side panel, there's a link "Cancel Your Membership", via which you can cancel it without the hassle of call-in. Hope it helps.

Leisure magazine trial subscription and SkyGuide are different company? Some posters said SkyGuide has great customer service.

Doesn't matter, all of them are under AMEX Publishing umbrella. AMEX Credit card customer service knows about this trick(or so called scam) of AMEX Publishing.

**My personal experience based on similar offer from AMEX** My suggestion: Do not fall for this trick offer. Read below.
I had received similar offer from AMEX Travel & Leisure magazine trial subscription. This sounds like an easy deal, that you get the card and cancel the trial membership.
But in reality it's not so easy. They charged me $2.99 first. Then in the packet that I received, I got another letter that you put a sticker and mail back that letter to claim
the gift. That first mail itself takes few days. Then, you have to remember to follow those instructions and mail that form to them after which they say they will send you the gift.
Also, in that same first mail, you may receiver another similar trial membership offer. Be careful to not select that, else you dig deeper an deeper into trouble.
Now, even though, I mailed that form properly on time, I did not receive the gift, but received another mail with a different offer, saying to again apply another sticker to claim my original gift.
I did that also, but till today(6 months now), haven't received the gift and it is not easy to contact the customer service. Long wait times.
If you don't remember to cancel(which I can guarantee, at least 30-40% people will forget), then you obviously will get charged. That happened to me also. I forgot to cancel. Then when finally
got hold of them, asked me to return the (initial copy of trial) magazine in the same envelope that I had received (this was after 3 months), then they can refund me my money. Fortunately, I had
stored the magazine and the initial shipping envelope.(which I am sure, many would not). If you miss that, then I am not sure, how difficult would it be to claim your refund.

So, I think, this is lot of work and quite a risk for just $25. I suggest to stay out of it, unless you have lot of free time on your hands. Otherwise, you can make $25 in lot of other easier ways than this.
I learnt my lesson, hence sharing with you to not commit the same mistake, I did. Enjoy!

Another tip based on above experience:
When I initially called AMEX credit card CC for that membership fee refund, they immediately recognized that this was for AMEX publishing offer. The CC person almost talked as if he knew that this was very
common that people calling for refunds for such memberships. He then transferred me to the AMEX publishing CC, after which I asked them for refund. Also, the Credit card CC person told me that you can tell
the AMEX publishing guys to not send any future offers. (I had started receiving similar mail offers almost every week, after I originally signed up for the initial trial membership). Even though, I told the same to the Publishing CC, they are still sending me such offers to-date, albeit at a less frequent rate, now almost every month, instead of earlier every week.
