This one is for all you scotch drinkers with lots of disposable income (and good taste?)

I was at Costco in Rancho Cordova CA on Friday and saw Johnnie Walker Blue Label 750ml for $149.99. That's the best price I've seen for a little bit. Usually is like 170-180.

Remember, even if you are not a Costco member, you can go to Costco to buy alcohol. They will let you in at the front door with no Costco card if you say "I am here to buy alcohol." I know this is true in California, other states I am not sure.

no- blue label is for Black label drinkers who have more money- not for those that have taste (unless taste is redefined as "is more expensive therefore it must be better")

Single malts....... please. Get a 18 year old Glenlivet for half this

Oh and people in scotland dont drink this stuff they just export it for foreigners......says a lot

One of THE BEST Scotch Whisky is .....cant quite remember its name but its peaty and comes from Islay ....whats the damn thing called......my mind is a blank

While I agree that Blue label is slightly over rated for its price. For those that have never tried it, you can't beat a price like this. TU

Good taste? Lol. People with good taste don't drink JWB. Much better tasting options out there...many costing far less to boot. JWB is simply great diageo marketing of a very average whiskey.

Any suggestions for the highlighted text? I'm among the unfortunate souls whose formal introduction to Scotch whiskey was with JW Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

get a good single malt like a glenlivet 18yo - less than $80 or a glenmorangie with a cask finish....

if you like peaty....try Laphroaig....lol

stay away from Glenmorangie - the cheapest one- the scots export that for the English.....

I actually had Laphroaigh for the first time on Superbowl Sunday. It was fantastic!! Very smokey and complex. A great sipping whiskey. You will either love it or hate it.

Costco actually raised the price on the Blue late last year. It was $119.99 for a long time and then after they raised it to $149.99 they ran a promo for the holidays at $124.99.

Over-rated is an Under-statement. What's the point of drinking this crap? So you can rub elbows with all the hoity-toity stuck-on-themselves snobs? I'll stick to my Bud Light, and a bottle of Skyy Vodka.
