ALL CAMERAS AND LENSES ARE A COMPROMISE between the ideal and the practical. This camera bespeaks quality and compactness. DSLR's are generally better overall but they are bulky. Size matters. The micro 4/3 format is capable of superb images with 1/2 of the bulk. If the images are good enough for you, then you might have found a happy medium. But if not, then you are conflicted and you must research more to find the camera for you.

In my opinion, space is critical. If the camera will accomplish the job, why pay for more that is unnecessary? The M4/3 is definitely a contender and fills the space that the original Olympus PEN 1/2 frame 35mm slr served. That camera was a winner because of its precision and the high image quality attainable. Also, size was also a winning aspect of the 35mm Leica in its preferred use over the SLR in many applications. I get tired carrying a lot of equipment for a long time so I prefer what's minimal if possible.

The lens on this camera is superb, however you might want to shop around if you are unsure. Some more sales are bound to pop up (like cameras with hot shoes for a larger flash unit which comes in real handy when the lights go down).
