Onkyo is such a good brand and has good power for bookshelf speakers and HDMI switching. If you are looking to buy a new receiver, I would think you have found great receiver at a great price!

I have two Pioneer receivers for 11 and 12 years respectively. Both are workhorses and still perform today like they did the day I took them out of the box. Pioneer and Yamaha are the way to go for receivers. The newer receivers seem to have a lot of issues with HDMI inputs, with Onkyo being notorious for failed HDMI. The company wouldn't even acknowledge it for the longest time, but finally did after threats of a class action lawsuit. I compare their receivers to the older model XBox 360......will fail sooner or later...most likely sooner. Mad
