I've owned a hobby grade micro heli (blade msr) for quite a while, and I must agree with this post. If you want to learn to fly on something that will not require additional investment, this is it. Perfect for all ages and will not break as quickly as a hobby grade flyer.

My son and I have both broke balance bars so I just order a couple at a time (and usually throw in some other bits because shipping is more than the parts sometimes).

It's great. I've had it for about a month and haven't broken a thing. If you have an ounce of common sense, you won't hit or break anything.

Flying outside is pretty much impossible during the day, because it's an infrared remote, not radio. But, you can fly it outside at night, and it looks cool. Just be sure to fly it over the grass if you're just learning. Well worth the $25 that I paid for it.
